Why can't i invite a collaborator on instagram?
Why are some accounts 'greyed out' when searching to invite a collaborator? One key reason is that users have turned off their tags, so they can't be invited as collaborators. Although I have also noticed other accounts turned greyed out and display a message that the user can't be invited as a collaborator yet.
Once the collaborator accepts, the post appears under both users' accounts. For now, Collab posts are only available in the Feed and Reels sections. That means that you can't tag a collaborator in an Instagram Story or Live stream. You're also limited to one collaborator per post.
- When you get to the end of your share screen, you'll see the option “Tag People”. - Clicking on “Tag People” will allow you to now invite a collaborator by clicking “Invite Collaborator.” - You can now search for an account and add it as a collaborator. Note that the account will need to accept your invitation.
Step 1: Follow the usual steps to create a new Feed post or Reel. Step 2: On the page where you can add your post details, tap on the “Tag people” option. Step 3: Choose the “Invite collaborator” option. Step 4: Search for the user you want to collaborate with and select their username.
To send a Collab invite on Instagram, you need to be using a public account. That said, you can collaborate with the person even if their account is private.
While you need a public account to start a collaborated post, the other person will get an invite and can accept them even if they have a private account.
Now, tap on the Tag people option. To invite collaborators, tap on Invite collaborators and search their Instagram usernames to add on the post as co-authors.
Here, you will notice that there is a new option (next to "Add Tag") for inviting collaborators. Tap on this and then search for the Instagram account that you would like to have as a co-author for your post. You can select multiple users, but there is a hard limit of 20.
Go to the “People” section and select the person you want to give Instagram account access to or click on “Add New People” to add new users. Click on “Assign Assets” and select either “Pages,” “Ad Accounts,” or “Product Catalogs” Select the specific assets you'd like to share access to and choose a role.
Tap Tag People to access the Collab label. On the next screen, you'll see two options: You can tag people as usual or invite a collaborator to be credited on the post. If you want, you can use both features in the same post. So you could tag a friend and list a brand as a collaborator.
How do you post jointly on Instagram?
Finally, when you reach the New Post screen that has the option to add a caption, location, etc., tap the option for 'Tag People'. Then, tap the option for 'Invite Collaborator' from the Tag People screen. Search for the user you want to invite as a collaborator on your post.
How to Use Instagram Collabs Feature (FULL TUTORIAL!)

Instagram has started testing a new feature called 'Collab' in India and the United Kingdom that lets users invite another account as a collaborator on a post or a Reel. If they accept, both accounts will appear in the header of the post or the Reel, and it will be shared to the followers of both accounts.
