Why is my base station blinking orange? ›

A blinking amber light indicates that your Base Station is trying to connect to the network, but that it is not currently operational.

If the Internet LED is solid amber or blinking amber there is a problem with your connection. If the Internet LED is blue or green , the Arlo SmartHub or Arlo Base Station is online.

Factory reset the device. Press and hold the Reset button located at the back of the SmartHub/Base Station for 10 seconds using a paper clip or pen until the LED blinks Amber. Once the LED stops blinking, the SmartHub/Base Station will reboot. Re-onboard the SmartHub/Base Station once the LED light turns Blue.

The power LED light is a solid orange color when the Base Station is first powered on and when running on internal battery. A solid green power LED light indicates that the update has finished and the Base Station is ready to be used. Also that the AC Power is connected or the device is running on Ring Power Packs.

Amber flashing lights are often seen on emergency personnel vehicles such as those used for work on the road, including construction vehicles and tow trucks.

Use a pen or straightened paperclip to press and hold the Reset button on the back of the base station for about 10 seconds. After the base station reset is complete, the LEDs on the front of the base station flash amber. When the LEDs stop flashing amber, your base station reboots.

You won't be able to restart your cameras remotely as you need to be in the same WiFi network as your camera. But you can restart your Base Station through the "Device Settings" on the Arlo app.

What happens if I reset my Arlo base station? ›

Performing a factory reset returns your Arlo SmartHub or Base Station to its default settings. After performing a reset, the Arlo SmartHub or Base Station must be removed and reconnected to your Arlo account.

Log out of the Arlo app on your mobile device or web browser and log back in again. If your camera still appears offline in the Arlo app, visit Arlo Support to speak with an expert. The LED blinks blue and purple. The camera is connecting to the network and the cloud.

It never hurts to restart your Base Station if you're not near the Base Station.

Power cycle your base station. To power cycle your base station, unplug the power adapter from the outlet, wait two minutes, and reconnect the power adapter to the outlet. The base station takes one to two minutes to start.

You will notice your Arlo camera flashing orange light if its battery is defective. This can mostly be the manufacturing issue with the battery. The orange light issue can also occur if the Arlo camera has lost sync with the Base Station. It can happen anytime.

If Arlo still cannot discover your base station, check the color of the Internet LED on your base station: If the Internet LED does not light after two minutes, the base station failed to connect to your router. Unplug and re-insert both ends of the Ethernet cable connecting your base station to your router.

You don't need a base station to connect Arlo Q and Arlo Q Plus cameras. They connect directly to your Wi-Fi router.
